                                                            All Hail the Mighty JEEP!

The Jeep was invented by the Bantam car company in 1940 after winning a U.S. Army contract for U.S. Army truck 4 x 4 1/4 ton command reconnaissance vehicle.

Bantam however could not build them in the vast numbers the U.S. forces required them in for WW2 in Europe and the Far east so Willys and Ford were given the government contracts to build the Jeeps and Bantam was given the contracts to build the Jeep trailers instead.

Upwards of half a million were made during WW2 and they were still being made up till the 1970,s in different up graded models, but all affectionetely known as a Jeep
